FUTPADEL Is Born: A Padel League for Professional Footballers

We’re really excited about the launch of a fantastic new project led by content creator DELANTERO09, which we’re convinced will play a big role in boosting the popularity and growth of padel even further.

The idea is called FUTPADEL, and it’s all about creating a league — and eventually other formats like cups and tournaments — where professional footballers, mostly retired but also some still active, who are passionate about padel, will team up and compete.

The padel teams being formed will represent clubs from Spain’s First and Second Divisions and will be made up of players who have played for those clubs at some point in their careers.

There’s also an International Team for players who’ve never played in Spain but want to take part in the tournament. That team already has the honor of featuring a player as renowned as Javier Pastore.

The tournament will be held at Club Pro Padel in Coslada, and some big names in Spanish football have already confirmed their participation — including Fernando Llorente, David Silva, Iker Casillas, Mista, Camacho, and many others who’ve joined the initiative. And even bigger names are rumored to be joining future events — yes, even Zinedine Zidane has been mentioned!

One of our favorite YouTube channels, LA CASA DEL PÁDEL, has done a great interview with DELANTERO09, where he explains the project in detail — what’s already happening and the exciting potential it has for the future.

We absolutely love this idea — it’s fantastic news for the world of padel, as it brings more attention and energy to our favorite sport, and shows just how much the love for padel continues to grow.

We invite you to check out the interview and, most importantly, we encourage everyone to support the FUTPADEL initiative — we’re sure it will bring us many unforgettable and entertaining moments. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE INITIATIVE!
