The 2025 season of the Premier Padel circuit continues to surprise us, and although the trickle of official announcements is still modest, the list of registered players for the P2 tournament in Asunción (Paraguay) is starting to paint a new picture on the women's circuit. Several important names appear alongside new partners, which anticipates a real "partner shuffle" in the upcoming tournaments that promises to reconfigure the women's scene.
At PADEL RED, we're giving you a sneak peek at the most significant changes!

🔁 Swap between Araujo and Martita Ortega
One of the most notable pieces of news following the Brussels P2 was the split between Sofía Araújo and Martita Ortega. After not going as far as they had hoped and not quite finding the feeling they expected when they decided to team up, they announced that their adventure together had come to an end.
The Portuguese player has found a new partner in the talented Andrea Ustero, and they are already registered for the Paraguay P2.
This move brings about another significant change, as Andrea stops playing with Alejandra Alonso. And here comes the double surprise: neither Marta Ortega nor Alejandra Alonso appear, for the moment, on the entry list for Asunción, which suggests that we might see them joining forces for this tournament. A real trading of players at the elite level of women's padel!
🌟 Martina Calvo joins Osoro: youth + fighting spirit
But the news doesn't end there. The very young Martina Calvo, who has been demonstrating overwhelming potential and whose performance in Brussels alongside Marta Borrero left us speechless, is taking a step forward by partnering with a seasoned player like Aranzazu Osoro. Aranzazu had already announced her separation from Jessica Castelló, and this new union generates great anticipation to see the explosiveness, freshness, and fighting spirit they can display together in the upcoming tournaments.
🤝 Castelló and Rufo, another new connection
Speaking of Jessica Castelló, the player from Alicante also has a new partner: Lorena Rufo, who comes from playing in Brussels with Lucía Martínez. This union between Castelló and Rufo sparks our interest and curiosity to see how they will manage to mesh their playing styles to become a balanced enough pair to go as far as possible in the draw of the upcoming tournaments.
✅ Confirmed: Carla Mesa and Sara Ruiz
Finally, the partnership between Carla Mesa and Sara Ruiz is confirmed. They previously competed alongside Laura Luján and Giorgia Marchetti, respectively, and now they are joining forces to face the upcoming challenges of the Premier Padel circuit.
And watch out, because the registration deadline is still open! This means we could witness even more surprises and last-minute moves. We can already predict that this P2 in Asunción will be one of the most interesting of the season, with many new pairs testing their chemistry and seeking results.
At PADEL RED, we will be paying close attention to all the news, updates, and potential new announcements to keep you informed of every change and every new partnership that forms.
