Finally, the Doha-Qatar Major of Premier Padel has started, and on the first day we were able to enjoy a great show with high-level points between the Portuguese duo of brothers Nuno and Miguel Deus against the pair formed by the veteran Miguel Lamperti and the promising Juani Rubini.
As we anticipated in our preview of the tournament, the Deus brothers are going to be one of the attractions of this week: mainly, to see how far they can go in the draw and, above all, how difficult they are going to make the matches for the elite pairs of the circuit. Of course, they have started by stepping on the accelerator, taking their first victory in two sets: 6-3 and 6-4.
From the first point it was seen that the four players were going for everything and the level of intensity was extremely high, leaving us spectacular points and plays of great merit.
Although Lamperti and Rubini fought every point with their usual dedication and until the end tried to hold on to the match, both Miguel and Nuno were super solid and did not fail in the crucial moments of both sets. Their connection and consistency were key, showing great synchronization both in defense and attack to take the debut match.
This vibrant encounter has been an excellent introduction to what promises to be a Doha Major full of intensity, tension and a padel of the highest level. We are very eager to see how the tournament continues to develop!
