The world of padel was shaken yesterday by the news that Juan Lebrón was going to play the Brussels P2 with Álex Ruiz; which sparked rumors of the breakup of the Lebrón - Franco Stupaczuk duo. Although several specialists on the circuit were quick to state that it was a one-off decision and in no case a definitive step.
Today it was Stupa himself who, through his INSTAGRAM account, confirmed that his absence in the upcoming tournaments in Qatar and Brussels does not correspond to any of the reasons that were put on the table yesterday, but is simply due to an injury.
It happened that Franco's absence coincided with the numerous rumors that fans and the media had filtered in recent days about a possible breakup of the Lebrón - Stupa pairing. However, Franco wanted to clarify the situation emphatically, assuring that it is not a personal or professional conflict with his teammate, but a physical problem.
In his Instagram post, the Argentine player explained his medical diagnosis with complete transparency:
"I always like to give you good news but, unfortunately, this time it's not like that. I had some medical tests done and the diagnosis has confirmed that I have an injury that forces me to stop and prioritize my recovery. I am very sorry not to be able to play the upcoming tournaments in Qatar and Brussels. I have already started working on rehabilitation, morning and afternoon, with my physios, to return as quickly and strongly as possible."
Stupaczuk's recovery plan
The young talent, who is known for his great determination and work ethic, made it clear in his message that he is committed to his recovery. Although the Qatar and Brussels tournaments will be missed, Franco has not put aside his passion for the sport and his team. He thanked the unconditional support of his teammate, Juan Lebrón, and the rest of his staff, headed by his physiotherapist, Carlos Pozzoni, with whom he has already started working to come back stronger.
"Thank you very much to my team @juanlebronc @carlospozzoni and to all who always support me so much in good times and bad 🙏" added Stupaczuk.
In addition, in a gesture of solidarity and support, the Argentine assured that he will closely follow the matches of his teammate Juan Lebrón and the captain of his team, Álex Ruiz, in the Brussels tournament. "I will be supporting the wolf 🐺 and the capi @alexruizoficial11🛡️ as just another fan in Belgium 🇧🇪," wrote Franco, making it clear that, despite his absence, his competitive spirit remains.
What does this absence mean for the circuit?
Franco Stupaczuk's absence in the Qatar and Brussels tournaments is a blow for both him and his playing partner, Juan Lebrón. Together, they have formed one of the most feared pairings on the circuit, and their chemistry on the court is undeniable. However, in professional padel, injuries are an inevitable part of an athlete's career, and it is essential to prioritize health to continue in the elite in the long term.
From here, we wish him a speedy recovery and all the support for him and his team in this process. We'll see you soon on the courts, Franco!
